17th Annual Afternoon of Bridal Luxury at Waldorf Astoria Chicago

Modern Luxury Weddings Chicago welcomed more than 150 brides, grooms, wedding planners and tastemakers to its 17th annual wedding walk in July. Eventgoers sipped and shopped their way around the Gold Coast, making stops at top bridal salons and venues and meeting with vendors across all wedding categories. Their first stop? The posh Waldorf Astoria Chicago, which Taylor & Co. Event Design outfitted to stunning effect with abundant florals representative of ceremony and reception decor in the ballroom. An intimate side room offered flutes of Asti Spumante courtesy of Consorzio dell’Asti DOCG to fuel the fun.

New this year, the event featured a special VIP hour before the walk kicked off. Modern Luxury Weddings editor-in-chief Elle Cashin sat down with esteemed designer Azeeza Khan to talk all things bridal styling, and VIP guests left with a copy of New York-based stylist Julie Sabatino’s new book Dressed, Styled, and Down the Aisle: Becoming a Stylish Bride.

Couples hit the road, following custom maps by Elizabeth Grace. They made eight stops before finishing at Thompson Chicago, where they received luxe swag bags courtesy of Bloomingdale’s, full of tips, tricks and deals to help plan their dream wedding.
