Your inbox must be clogged. How many invites do you get? I receive about 15 or more a day, ranging from high-end events to networking get-togethers to galas and rooftop parties.
You’re such a public figure in Chicago—what is something people may not know about you? That I stay very close to my roots—Dupo, Ill.—and that one of my most memorable events was a rooster-crowing contest at the Monroe County Fair.
You’ve obviously made an impact here. What impact has the city made on you? Chicago has given me everything, including Chuck, my husband of 30 years, and a career I love. It accepted a small-town girl as one of its own, and for that I’ll be eternally grateful.
What is your secret to youth and energy? Nivea, pinot grigio and two parents who were always the last to leave a party.
Have you ever reinvented yourself? I’m a Gemini; I reinvent myself every 15 minutes.
