The 3Arts Awards at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance was a vibrant celebration of Chicago’s artists and their profound influence on the city’s cultural scene. The evening showcased a series of dynamic performances, from boundary-pushing experimental dance to powerful tributes to African diasporic footwork traditions, with past awardees like Rika Lin, Donnetta “LilBit” Jackson and Nashon Holloway taking the stage.
Hosted by former 3Arts executive director Esther Grimm and co-chaired by Michelle T. Boone, Whitney Hill and Candace Hunter, the event brought together over 600 guests to honor the city’s thriving arts community. The night ended with an afterparty deejayed by award-winning artist Sadie Woods.
Ten Chicago artists were awarded $30,000 unrestricted grants, while six past awardees received $50,000 “Next Level” grants, further fueling 3Arts’ commitment to local talent, which has resulted in the distribution of more than $8.1 million to more than 2,300 artists in the organization’s 17-year history.
