Tell us what makes your business different from other wedding companies?
Venue SIX10 is a unique wedding venue in the award-winning building of Spertus Institute, a nonprofit Jewish educational center with deep Chicago roots and worldwide impact. The building, designed by Chicago-based Krueck Sexton Partners, is a contemporary landmark that has won awards for its architecture, environmental sustainability, and the ways its gem-like façade of 726 windows adds a brilliant contemporary counterpoint to the historic street wall of South Michigan Avenue. Those amazing windows provide extraordinary views of the skyline, Grant Park, and Lake Michigan.
What is your best advice for engaged couples?
Two of our team members were married in the past year, so they have advice from both professional and personal experience. They suggest that couples make sure to carve out time for each other, don't let everything be about wedding planning. Yes, there can be a lot of pressure from family and friends—and decision making can be stressful. So leave your to do list to us and your vendors, and focus on each other!
What is something you constantly strive for?
Venue SIX10 constantly strives to provide unique solutions for all our client’s ideas! If our clients come to us with a new idea to set their wedding apart from others, we jump right in and see how we can make their vision come to life. We have connections with many creative and inspiring vendors that can help achieve the “WOW” moment our clients are looking for.
What do you think is essential for any wedding?
There is so much that goes into a wedding, but the one simple thing all weddings need is good vibes! Your wedding should be one of the happiest days of your life, so stay true to yourself. You’ll be able to enjoy your day, and everyone will feed off your good vibes and have an unforgettable experience.
How far in advance should couples book your business?
Venue SIX10 is currently booking weddings and other events up to two years in advance, however we can also be nimble. When necessary, we can execute wonderful weddings within a few months. Of course, our preference is to have more time, so you can access the details that make your wedding the event you dream of, but we are here to help our clients no matter their timeline!
