Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy (CURE), founded by Susan Axelrod, held its 16th Annual Chicago Benefit on May 19, at Navy Pier. Event chair Debra A. Cafaro, Chairman and CEO of Ventas, Inc., welcomed nearly 1,200 guests and raised more than $2.1 million for epilepsy research efforts.
James Taylor serenaded the crowd with some of his most famous tunes and Susan and David Axelrod, Chicago Bears General Manager Phil Emery and Debra Cafaro. shared stories that truly moved the crowd. In addition, guests were treated to music from the Misericordia Heartzingers Choir and the Walter Payton College Prep Jazz Band.
