The 28th Annual Alexian Brothers Ball de Fleur took a trip back in time with the theme Reaching New Heights, a tribute to the 1893 World’s Fair. The Field Museum was packed with exciting attractions, including a 20- foot Ferris wheel, Dixieland band and fair performers. Between libations and bites, the almost 550 guests enjoyed an exclusive look inside the museum’s exhibit Opening the Vaults: Wonders of the 1893 World’s Fair. Another wonder: At the end of the evening, $350,000 was raised for health care and housing programs. –Bruce Powell Photography
