Cubs fans looking to get a little closer to the round are about to get lucky. Retired Chicago Cubs second baseman and outfielder Ben Zobrist has listed his home in the St. Ben’s neighborhood of Chicago, just a bike-ride away from historical Wrigley Field, $2.1 million.
Realtor.com reports that the three-time all-star winner and 2016 World Championship MVP is selling his house amid divorce proceedings from Julianna Zobrist. The Victorian-style 6-bedroom, 5-bathroom home hit the market in January, with private viewings available before then.

The home features a heated three-car garage perfect for Chicago winters. A 24-hour, private security system throughout the home is bound to make its new owner feel safe in the corner lot.
Located just two miles from Wrigley Field, Zobrist really did ride his bike to a game in full uniform. Perhaps one of the house’s most famous moments was the day after the 2016 World Championship Game, when Zobrist was pictured signing autographs and thanking fans outside his front door.
The $2.1 million property is a designer’s dream home, reads a description of the house on Trulia. Featuring a large back patio with a sports court and a balcony with surround-sound system, the outdoors space is perfect for entertainment.
The home’s classic Victorian architecture contrasts the modern appliances and top-of-the-line chef’s kitchen. A spa-like master bathroom boasts a soaking tub and separate steam shower, while the adjoining bedroom includes two walk-in closets and bay windows for ample natural light.
Ben and Julianna Zobrist bought the property in 2016 from a builder for $1.84 million. Listing agent Jill Scott told the Chicago Tribune that “Julianna Zobrist placed her own design stamp throughout the entire home” with “very high-end designer finishes throughout, from wallpapers to counter tops to light fixtures, the whole thing.”

Zobrist was acquired by the Cubs in 2015, and helped the team win the 2016 World Series. Weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down organized sports, Zobrist told the MLB Network that he did not intend to play again.
