City dogs all around Chicago deserve a get-away just as much as their owners.
Chicago brings beaches, shady areas, large grassy fields, canine drinking fountains and other urban luxuries for all the pups to enjoy. Neighborhoods all over Chicago dedicate parks to pets and their needs, giving them their little bit of land in the busy area we all call home.

We found six of the best dog parks for your pets to enjoy, so take your four-legged friend for a special day when the sun is shining bright.
2645 N Sheffield Ave.
Located on the north side of Chicago in Noethling Playlot Park, this was Chicago's first official dog exercise and play area when it opened in 1997. With a play on words from the cities Wrigley Field, Wiggly Field has created a go-to spot for all Chicago dogs to play. The park is entirely closed-in with double gated entryways and a canine-sized drinking fountain.
2526 N Western Ave.
Separated into two parks, one for small and one for larger dogs, your pup can play in this concrete only, classic city dog park. Decorated with colorful murals of animals and plenty of seating, the Logan Square Dog park is a great place for not only the pets but for their humans to enjoy. Your dog can run free and enjoy the 0.62 acres with all-around fencing and shady areas for a break from the sun.
4697 Lawrence, W Wilson Drive
If your dog enjoys time in the sand and a splash in the water, the Montrose Dog Beach is the perfect summer spot for you and your dog to enjoy the beaches of Chicago. With a large fenced in section, your dog can run with the other beach-loving city dogs and enjoy the nice weather and cool water. After your pets beach day, cleanup your pet at the dog cleaning stations that include blow dryers.
450 E Benton Place
Located in Lakeshore East Park minutes from Maggie Daley, the Lakeshore East Dog Park offers a tree-shaded space for pups to run leash-free. A hidden paradise from the busy streets and sounds of Chicago, this dog park has plenty of benches, plants, running water and large grassy areas for your pups to have a nice city getaway.
456 E Illinois Street
Bennett Park brings privacy and an upscale feel to a dog park, with a frame of trees surrounding the park, and beautiful gardens and play areas. With two separate dog runs, one for small and the other for large dogs, this serves as a greeting areas for dogs and pet owners alike. Bennett Park also includes a children's playground and a shady grove for a relaxing stroll after your day in the dog park.
Belmont & Lakeshore Drive, North end of Belmont Harbor
A Chicago dog beach on the chill side, Belmont Harbor Dog Beach is the place for your dogs to relax near the harbor for a quick beach break. While running down the lake shore path, your pet can take a quick splash in the water before enjoying more lake shore views on this small dog beach at the north end of the Belmont Harbor.
