David Klow of Skylight Counseling Center

David Klow is a licensed marriage and family therapist, trained intuitive healer and spiritual guide who’s passionate about helping people reach their full potential. His firm, Skylight Counseling Center (5225 Old Orchard Road, Ste. 37, Skokie), offers a wide array of programs, workshops, retreats and groups. However, Klow knows some people are hesitant to seek support because they fear or don’t understand the counseling process. To shed light on what therapy is all about—as well as illustrate how common people’s problems are—he’s written a book that came out this February, titled You Are Not Crazy: Letters From Your Therapist ($18, Wyatt-MacKenzie Publishing). “It can be really healing to see that we’re not alone,” Klow says. “A lot of people come in saying ‘This is the problem,’ but they don’t realize that what they’re actually starting in on is an exploration of who they are. That’s where the real healing happens—when we connect to our more abundant, expansive selves where anything’s possible.” –MK
