One of the most anticipated harbingers of Chicago’s summer season is always the NoMI Garden Party at the Park Hyatt Chicago, and this year’s bash did not disappoint! The playful barbecue theme was evident in everything from the decor (sod-topped buffet tables and planters filled with sunflowers) to the delectable bites prepared by chef Ryan LaRoche and pastry pro Meg Galus. We couldn’t get enough of the yakitori-grilled ribs and watermelon skewers dressed with lime, ginger and cilantro. Sips from the restaurant’s new cocktail program and the soothing sounds of a string duo left many guests (us included) in no hurry to leave. –Photos by Mitchell Canoff
