Bookwallah, an organization dedicated to helping children of trauma through literature, celebrated its 10th annual Dream Launcher Gala at the Chicago Club.
The nearly 200 guests, such as founder Seena Jacoband Sid Bala, were serenated with traditional Indian tabla drums and watched video presentations from children at Bookwallah’s partners in India.
The $230,000 raised benefits the organization’s literacy programs, including reading sessions, book donations, building libraries and sustaining existing ones across India.
