The Party
The Museum of Contemporary Photography at Columbia College Chicago hosted photographers and collectors alike at Darkroom, the museum’s benefit auction. A private club served as an elegant backdrop as guests browsed the evening’s auction lots, which included 45 unique photographs and art experiences, among them a selection from Sandro Miller’s series of homage portraits featuring John Malkovich.

The People
More than 420 guests mingled as they sipped Mo√ęt bubbly and Angel’s Envy cocktails. The room was abuzz when the final auction closed, and an astonishing $175,000 was raised for future MoCP exhibitions, community engagement and education programs.

Best in Show
A portion of the evening was dedicated to the MoCP’s Silver Camera Award, which honors those who have made a significant contribution to the medium of photography. Joining the esteemed list of past winners was Barbara Crane, whose abstract images and urban landscapes have stunned for the past 50 years. All in all, the evening was a work of art. –Photos by Foto by Mateo and Jeff Schear Visuals
