Chefs’ Night Out heralded the James Beard Foundation Awards in tasteful style.

THE PARTY
The James Beard Foundation called on Gibsons Restaurant Group to show off Chicago’s cuisine and hospitality—and show off it did. The group’s exquisite private dining space, The Montgomery Club, served as host for Chefs’ Night Out, one the most festive celebrations of the weekend. Inside the sophisticated mahogany-paneled venue, guests sampled a dazzling array of tasty treats under the glow of elegant chandelier installations by Event Creative.

THE PEOPLE
James Beard Award winners past and present mingled with renowned chefs and city leaders while enjoying Chicago-themed culinary concoctions served up by Gibsons’ chefs Randy Waidner and John Coletta. Mixologists from LUXBAR, Bacardi and Tanqueray 10 stirred up signature cocktails for partygoers while Grammy- nominated Paul Blair (aka DJ White Shadow) added his beats to the evening’s ambience.

BEST IN SHOW
Naturally, the cuisine was the star of the night. Nearly a dozen gourmet food stations featured everything from cured salami and fresh oysters to a hot dog cart and custom popcorn tins. And everyone indulged in a bit of late-night snacking when Beavers Coffee + Donuts, The Fat Shallot, 5411 and Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria food trucks made an appearance.
