THE PARTY Terzo Piano played host to this year’s Chefs’ Playground Gala, where the first renderings of the Academy for Global Citizenship, a highly anticipated sustainable education school designed by MacArthur Genius Grant award winner Jeanne Gang, were unveiled. THE PEOPLE Guests sipped cocktails like a tiki “juice box” from Lost Lake’s Paul McGee and sampled delectable bites from 28 local chefs, including Chris Pandel (Swift & Sons), Tony Mantuano (Spiaggia) and Sarah Grueneberg (Monteverde). An equally eclectic live auction followed, with prizes ranging from celebrity-chef dinners to a whale-watching trip with actor Adrian Grenier. THE PINNACLE The cherry on top was the $300,000 raised, a third of which will be used in support of AGC’s 65,000-square-foot campus that will feature a 3-acre urban farm and teaching kitchen for students and the community. “We are confident that this educational innovation has the potential to ignite a global movement of change,” says Gang. “This campus will be a model for the next generation of public education.” Cheers to that! –Photos by Galdones Photography
