The Chicago Dance Health Fund hosted its 33rd annual Dance for Life at the Auditorium Theatre, showcasing the city’s rich dance traditions and style by uniting dancers and artists from the greater Chicago area. Performances featured companies such as The Joffrey Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Giordano Dance Chicago.
The event welcomed more than 1,500 guests, including a variety of professional dancers and participating artists. The event was co-chaired by Victor Alexander and Maray Gutierrez, alongside Ekua and Jamin McGinnis. With Fred Eychaner as presenting sponsor, additional lead sponsors included Paula and Tim Friedman, Ted Grady and Ross Slotten M.D., and the Kipper Family Foundation.
Guests were wowed by the world premiere ensemble piece “Lift,” which was performed by more than 50 local company dancers and freelance artists and choreographed by Jonathan Alsberry. The event raised nearly $350,000 for the Chicago Dance Health Fund to provide financial support for preventative care and critical medical needs to Chicago dance industry professionals.
