For Chicago Dancers United’s 31st annual Dance For Life fundraiser, over 1,700 guests gathered at the Auditorium Theatre and later headed to the afterparty at Venue SIX10. The news of the night? CDU board president Michael Anderson announced the company’s new partnership with Howard Brown Health.
The event featured an illustrious lineup of performers including Chicago Dance Crash, the Joffrey Ballet and Trinity Irish Dance Company. Jennifer Edgcomb, Ted Grady and Ross Slotten co-chaired the event, and Julie Burman Kaplan led the artistic committee.
Randy Duncan, three-time Ruth Page Outstanding Choreographer winner and dance department chair of the Chicago Academy for the Arts, choreographed a world-premiere finale featuring dancers from across Chicago to close out the event. Dance for Life surpassed its fundraising goal by raising $300,000 for The Dancers’ Fund, which supports the financial and medical needs of industry professionals.
