The Children’s Research Fund celebrated its signature Children’s Ball at the Hilton Chicago to reconnect Chicagoans with advanced medical research, in a play on the event’s ReConnect theme. Co-chaired by Devanee and Alex Washington, the black-tie family affair was attended by 850 guests and began with a cocktail reception, followed by a drum line from St. Ignatius College Prep, a paddle raise and more.
Lurie Children’s President and CEO Dr. Tom Shanley and Children’s Research Fund Chair Jamie Pasquale addressed the gathered attendees, and the Washingtons’ children introduced speakers and read an original poem based on the ReConnect theme.
Committed to research advancement for over 70 years, the institution raised more than $3 million for the Children’s Research Fund, which goes toward the $10 million dedication to facilitated research at the Manne Research Institute and the Patrick M. Magoon Institute for Healthy Communities at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
Guests hit the dance floor.
