Best Bathroom Winners: Leah Bolger Design, Benvenuti and Stein
Leah Bolger Design embraces the concept of starting fresh with a fabulous bathroom redesign in a client’s Gold Coast condo.
A Barcelona 1800 tub from Victoria & Albert featuring 24k brushed gold fixtures and Carrara marble knobs is set against chic Shantung wallpaper from Cowtan & Tout; “Buena Vista” by artist Adja Yunkers adds a pop of color at the vanity.
The Project
The adage “starting with a clean slate” took on new meaning for these North Shore residents, who left behind most of their furnishings—keeping only a vintage family heirloom Steinway and a few sentimental items—as they started a new chapter in a newly purchased Gold Coast condo. Their main focus for the primary suite remodel was a complete redesign of the bathroom, leading them to hire interior designer Leah Bolger of Leah Bolger Design to bring the vision to life. “The goal was to fulfill the client’s desire for a clean, yet dynamic space with beautiful architectural finishes that aligned with their preferred aesthetic,” says Bolger. “The clients are exceptionally attuned to proper proportion, texture and color, so every drawing and detail was clearly defined, presented and executed.”
“We were excited to find a beautiful water jet marble mosaic composed of four different species of marble which provided inspiration for the other elements, textures and colors,” shares Bolger. “These stones are cut into irregular strips, creating a unique intersecting pattern that resembles streets on a grid map and imagery found in abstract art. As much as we loved the aesthetics of the material, we also loved the subliminal attributes, as they beautifully represented their urban lifestyle and aesthetic.”
The Outcome
Sums up Bolger, “The clients couldn’t be happier with the finished space, and the end results exceeded their expectations.”
