A Dream Come True

The Party
Dreams became reality at the third annual Scene Soiree fundraiser hosted by Goodman Theatre’s Scenemakers Board, where revelers enjoyed an astounding array of theatrical performances and attractions.

The Scene
The National Hellenic Museum was transformed into a magical wonderland inspired by the Goodman’s Dream Season. Interactive installations depicting a Greek god, a space odyssey contortionist and a Victorian mouse delighted more than 300 guests. Colored moving lights bounced off the dance floor as guests enjoyed music from DJ White Russian, sipped on specialty cocktails from Celeste and snacked on hors d’oeuvres (we couldn’t stay away from the flatbread station featuring California burrata, leeks, Calabrian chiles and chervil).

The Highlights
Performances by The Nexus Project and a surprise flash mob shocked and thrilled the crowd. Board treasurer (and member of the flash mob) Justin Kulovsek said not even the entire board knew about the dance. “A lot of people caught on and joined in,” he said. “It added a fun level of interaction to the night.” –Photos by John Riley Photography and Dean La Prairie
