The Costume Council of the Chicago History Museum welcomed a select group for an exclusive talk by noted fashion historian Dimitri Papalexis. Titled Shocking Pink and Pearl Grey, Papalexis’ lecture explored the impressive and influential careers of two of the fashion industry’s most revered figures: Elsa Schiaparelli and Christian Dior. After the presentation, guests were able to view two of the designers’ original garments before moving to the elegant Chicago Room for a Champagne luncheon highlighted by brie-and-prosciutto-stuffed chicken breast in a decadent brown butter sauce. –Photos by Robert Kusel
