EMILY ERDOS & DEYA MUNIZ

Rain on their wedding day “led to some of the most beautiful photos, where the sun was bright and the flowers were dewy,” Emily says.
THE COUPLE Emily Erdos and Deya Muniz met at orientation at Savannah College of Art and Design, and their friendship soon bloomed into a relationship. Years later, they were planning proposals for each other and, coincidentally, made the exact same plan: to propose at Shedd Aquarium. But before the big day, they overeagerly got engaged during a night in with friends. “It turned out to be very intimate, sweet and silly,” Emily remembers.
THE DETAILS Both brides are comic creators, and Emily personally designed invitations featuring their dog, Ellie. (Ellie also featured in the favors, enamel pins guests wore throughout the night.) The couple made the wedding their own, switching up traditions like the bouquet toss; instead of flowers, cat and dog plush toys were thrown to symbolize who would get a pet next.
THE PARTY The couple planned a joyous and flower-filled occasion. “I wanted it to be like how Hobbits would throw any party: kicked-off shoes, good food, good company and tons of dancing,” Emily says. “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran was the last song of the night, and Emily and Deya cried through it, so happy to finally celebrate their love after a nearly twoyear delay. –PS
Arrangements featured roses and pampas grass.
Emily’s ring has a peach sapphire, and Deya’s center stone is alexandrite.
In lieu of bouquets, the wedding party carried novels that represented what love meant to them.
