Extraordinary Affair

| April 28, 2011 | Parties

The Party: Carnivale hosted Chicago Opera Theater’s 2011 gala—A Party Less Ordinary—in support of the theater’s spring season. The Players: Co-chairs Roger Baskes and Dana Ragiel, along with emcee Dan Ponce of WGN, welcomed 350 guests for an evening of signature cocktails by New Amsterdam Gin, dinner and performances by soprano MicaĆ«la Oeste and baritone Elliot Madore. Hopefuls purchased raffle tickets for crystal, silver and diamond pieces from Tiffany & Co. and Frank Gehry. The Bottom Line: $200,000 was raised to benefit COT for Teens—the theater’s education and outreach collaboration with After School Matters.
