THE PARTY The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago celebrated the MCA Stage’s 15th anniversary. THE FIRST ACT Cocktail hour was on the MCA plaza, where 300 guests enjoyed bubbly and samples from Chicago’s food trucks The Southern Mac & Cheese Truck, 5411 Empanadas and HummingBird Kitchen. After a performance by Drum ensemble JASC Tsukasa Taiko, punk circus marching band Mucca Pazza led the crowd inside. THE SECOND ACT Guests dined on the MCA stage, which was transformed with pink box centerpieces, orange table covers and dim pink lighting by HMR Design Group and Event Creative. MCA Pritzker Director Madeleine Grynsztejn honored Director of Performance Programs Peter Taub, and gala co-chairs Sara Albrecht and Jay Franke welcomed guests. Wolfgang Puck Catering served balsamic watermelon salad with Serrano ham and Manchego cheese, jalapeño cheddar biscuits with pork belly and buttermilk fried chicken with cherry honey. THE THIRD ACT After the beef tenderloin entrée—and a set by the Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus that had guests dancing around their table—dessert, including lemon custard profiteroles paired with limoncello, was served upstairs. More than $300,000 was raised. Photos by Robert Carl
