THE PARTY Brazilian dancers and stilt walkers welcomed partygoers to Cuisine for Cancer, a collaborative culinary competition with Sleefood, celebrating Imerman Angels’ National Cancer Support Month. THE PEOPLE More than 1,000 guests cha-cha’d their way between restaurant stations at the first Cuisine for Cancer at Morgan Manufacturing, noshing on sumptuous fare from 25 hot spots. On the rooftop, VIPs enjoyed specialty cocktails like the Bear Necessity, a tasty concoction with PatrĂ³n Silver and mango nectar, at Liquor Lab’s private pop-up. THE PINNACLE A panel of Chicago celebrities—including Candace Jordan and Howard Tullman, CEO of 1871—cast their votes for the best Latin fusion-themed dish. Q-BBQ’s succulent barbecue taco won the judges over, earning the restaurant the largest donation for its charity partner, The H Foundation. Dinner Lab stiffened the competition with its beer-battered shrimp, pineapple and jicama slaw taco, which received the People’s Choice award. But the real winners of the evening were the 10 cancer charities that split the $100,000 raised by the night’s end. –Photos by Leilani B’smith
