Flying High

| July 30, 2012 | Parties National

THE PARTY The Alexian Brothers Foundation hosted the 26th annual Ball de Fleur at Navy Pier. THE SCENE Florence LaRue and The 5th Dimension brought all 500 guests to their feet with a 90-minute performance of Grammy Award-winning songs like “Up, Up and Away,” which was also the evening’s theme. Decorative hot-air balloons floated above guests as they dined and bid on auction prizes like a Nashville getaway complete with tickets to the 2012 CMT Awards. THE BOTTOM LINE The evening totaled $360,000, adding to the $6 million raised for a variety of health care programs during the course of the organization’s 25 years of philanthropic galas.
