Chicago Botanic Garden celebrated the end of summer with Harvest Ball, a flower-inspired black-tie gala.
THE PARTY
A kaleidoscope of dazzling early autumn foliage supplied the ideal backdrop for Chicago Botanic Garden’s warmest Harvest Ball yet. Guests began the evening by raising a glass filled with the evening’s signature bourbon and mint cocktail, the Lune d’Automne. The over 300 attendees then moved to a sumptuous dinner on the Esplanade, which was ornately decorated by Kehoe Designs in the style of a French farmers market. The evening continued with the live auction, which contributed to the event raising an astonishing $335,000.
THE PEOPLE
Kudos to CBG Guild co-presidents Amy Brock and Emily Reynolds, and auction co-chairs Maxie Clarke, Whitley Bouma Herbert and Sarah Vaile for breaking the live auction record with a spectacular seven-night escape to the exquisite Casa de Campo Resort in the Caribbean that fetched almost $20,000!
THE PINNACLE
The evening’s proceeds will support the garden’s Science Career Continuum, which extends a helping hand to low-income, first-generation college students. Cheers to a blooming future! ‒Solomiya Chuyko
