Gioia, which means “joy” in Italian, honors the heirloom recipes of the country's local cuisine while presenting a contemporary take that speaks to today’s guests. The centerpiece of Gioia is the 7-8 different types of pasta made daily in-house. Gioia’s ever-changing menu is fueled by chef and partner, Federico Comacchio’s regular visits to Italy to eat and learn from local artisans.

The signature dish is Gioia nei Paccheri, a pasta preparation from Campania that is prepared tableside and comes with bibs embroidered with a quote from famed Italian director Federico Fellini, “Life is a combination of magic and pasta”. Made with Paccheri Mancini, tomato sauce using three different types of tomatoes and 22-month Parmigiano-Reggiano, it is a dish that embodies what Gioia is all about- delicious food, wonderful service and a slice of Italy in Chicago’s trendiest neighborhood.

Gioia is located at 1133 W. Randolph and is open daily at 4:00 pm. gioiachicago.com
