Jazz dance company Giordano Dance Chicago hosted its fourth annual Legacy Ball at the Ravenswood Event Center, where over 250 guests enjoyed pop-up performances paired with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. Amid a space adorned with neon signs and vintage cars, attendees mingled during the event’s kickoff eception and participated in a silent auction of over 30 items, including a private GDC dance party.
Honorary chairperson, Chicago-based educator and former GDC assistant artistic director Homer Hans Bryant was celebrated with a performance by the Hiplet Ballerinas, and was joined by other industry notables including GDC artistic director Nan Giordano and GDC board president Kip Helverson.
DJ Madrid Perry matched the venue’s vibrant, high-energy atmosphere and kept the crowd on the dance floor all night. The event raised over $125,000 for Giordano Dance arts enrichment initiatives such as its Jazz Dance/Science & Health program.
