THE PARTY Salvage One hosted a gathering in honor of hometown chef Stephanie Izard of the Girl and the Goat, as she kicked off her Goat Tour and celebrated the launch of her first cookbook, “Girl in the Kitchen”. THE HIGHLIGHTS Guests were offered a unique glimpse into the contents of Girl in the Kitchen, as several of Izard’s Chicago chef-friends presented their adaptations to a variety of recipes from the book. Chefs Chris Pandel, Paul Virant, Charlie McKenna, Rick Gresh, Korean Grieveson, Roger Herring, Rusty Hamlin, Giuseppe Tentori, Dale Levitski, Gilbert Langlois, and Jessie Oloroso created personal interpretations of Izard’s already innovative recipes, while Izard herself matched her favorite food to exclusive brews and wines. THE BOTTOM LINE This evening served as the hometown send-off to Izard’s ten-city Goat Tour, being an effort to both promote her exquisite new book, as well as raise money and awareness for Share Our Strength, one of the nation's leading not-for-profit organizations, mobilizing individuals and industries to fight hunger.
