Give-Back Gala

| July 1, 2013 | Parties

THE PARTY More than 900 philanthropic-minded guests visited the Hilton Chicago to support the organization’s fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Attendees at one of the city’s most high-profile events enjoyed the music of Grammy winner Richard Marx, auctions, dinner and dancing late into the night. THE SCENE Local media personalities Roe Conn and Tracy Butler served as emcees while co-chairs Debbie Mendelson Ponn, Sharon and Scott Markman, and Blythe and David Mendelson recognized notable honorees for their dedicated fight against the disease and work to find a cure. Gala founder Princess Yasmin Aga Khan, daughter of Hollywood legend Rita Hayworth, honored Alzheimer’s Association founder Jerome Stone for his advocacy and presented him with a cake for his 100th birthday! THE HIGHLIGHTS The gala raised a record-breaking $1.5 million. The funds go to support the association’s mission to advance research to fight Alzheimer’s, as well as provide care to those affected by it. Photography by Bill Richert
