Memories of summer camp kept the night shining bright at Camp Kesem’s Magic Ball.
THE PARTY Over 600 Chicago-area notables gathered at Camp Kesem’s Magic Ball, enjoying a night of dinner, dancing and summer camp fun at Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park. The event raised a record $1.2 million for the nonprofit, which provides summer programming for children who have been affected by a parent’s cancer.
THE PEOPLE Local celebrities such as Giordano’s CEO Yorgo Koutsogiorgas attended the fun-filled affair. Famed auctioneer David Goodman led a live auction, which included an in-home dinner with Paul Virant, executive chef of Michelin-starred Vie.
THE PINNACLE Camp Kesem counselors, who are volunteers from 25 college chapters, gave guests a glimpse of the camp life, including traditions like choosing a camp name. At the end of the evening, the crowd rose to a standing ovation after watching an emotional video showcasing Camp Kesem’s positive impact on families battling cancer.
