THE PARTY The Guild of the Chicago Botanic Garden’s 13th annual Harvest Ball raised $450,000 for The Learning Center, which provides educational programs set to inspire an interest in the environment. THE PLAYERS Event co-chairs Kimberly Burt, Peyton Merrill and Riley O’Neil welcomed guests to the cocktail reception, where the 500 attendees sipped Mo√ęt & Chandon Champagne while bidding on more than 90 auction items. Over dinner by Calihan Catering Inc., a live auction included items such as a $10,000 gift certificate to Graff and luxury vacation packages, such as a five-night stay for two at Four Seasons Resort Nevis, West Indies. Afterwards, the crowd hit the dance floor to the tunes of Lynne Jordan and the Shivers. THE BOTTOM LINE To date, the annual event has raised more than $2.5 million for the Botanic Garden’s education and environmental programs. Photography by Robert Kusel
