Chicago’s buzzy Greektown neighborhood welcomes back Greektown Restaurant Week from March 1 through 7, bringing tempting menu offerings and exclusive specials to the Near West Side along Halsted Street. We’ve rounded up the most anticipated deals and unique offerings from local bars and restaurants during this weeklong celebration of Greek culture and fare.

Must-visit Greektown hot spot 9 Muses Bar & Grill prides itself on serving authentic Greek cuisine and traditional Mediterranean entrées. As a special for Greektown Chicago Restaurant Week, the restaurant will offer half-price bottles of Greek wine and a complimentary trio of housemade tzatziki, hummus and tirokafteri (spicy feta) spreads served with warm pita with the purchase of two entrees (one per table). Visitors can also sample house specialties, such as the grilled octopus with olive oil, lemon vinaigrette and oregano and the Mediterranean charbroiled chicken, served with sautéed vegetables and topped with wine-mustard pan sauce and feta.

Visit Athena Restaurant for savory mains, kabobs, mezze and traditional Greek entrées. In honor of Greektown Chicago Restaurant Week, the eatery will offer one free saganaki per table. Dig into authentic fan favorites such as the braised lamb shank with tomato sauce, rice and potatoes, the spanakopita with spinach and creamy feta and the Mediterranean sea bass. Restaurant-goers can sip on inspired cocktails—such as the Santorini sunset, the espresso masthini and the baklava old fashion—alongside Greek beer, wine and reserves.

Since 1985, this Greektown neighborhood Irish bar has remained a popular spot for in-the-know Chicagoans, serving 24 brews on tap such as Two Brothers Cane and Ebel, Guinness, Harp and Bass and Rogue Meyerfest Seasonal. The watering hole is kicking off Greektown Restaurant Week with half-off Guinness beer on Saturday, March 1.

Celebrate Greek culture at Greek Islands Restaurant, where extra virgin olive oil, wines, cheeses, herbs and seafood are shipped directly from Greece. Visitors can receive one free order of the taramosalata appetizer with pita per table and 30% off all Greek wines to celebrate Greektown Restaurant Week. From Jewish dishes to Mediterranean-inspired fare, Rye Deli + Drink serves classic deli staples that take traditional recipes to the next level. The restaurant will participate in Greektown Restaurant Week by offering 25% off on hummus, smoked goat cheese, Mediterranean salad and the grilled smoked salmon entrée. Specialty entrées include the smoked half chicken with Oakwood smoked Amish chicken, charred carrots and herb-roasted russets and the charred cauliflower with parsley, lemon, spiced walnuts, chickpeas, date glaze and tahini aioli.

Throughout Greektown Restaurant Week, restaurant-goers can enjoy a complimentary beverage with every dinner purchased.
