The Service Club of Chicago’s Spring Luncheon showcased the stylish millinery of its charitable members.
THE PARTY The Service Club of Chicago’s Spring Luncheon was bursting at the seams with some of the city’s most philanthropic women and their equally fabulous headpieces. Members gathered at the Saddle & Cycle Club to commemorate nearly 130 years of benefiting the welfare, civic and cultural needs of Chicago.
THE PEOPLE President Simona Garcia welcomed guests, remarking, “We are so grateful to all of you for helping all those in need in our communities.” Mamie Walton was inducted into the Service Club’s Chapeaux Hall of Fame. She showed her thanks with a song accompanied by pianist Stanley Paul and violinist Katarina Visnevska.
THE PINNACLE As attendees strolled the terrace, illustrator Rosemary Fanti sketched the stylish crew. As if there wasn’t enough to celebrate, a call for donations for the Philanthropic Grant Program set an all-time record, raising more than $140,000. We tip our hats to their efforts! -Jay Venables
