The Midwest Regional Office of UNICEF puts children first at its eighth annual gala.

Humanitarians gathered at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago for a remarkable evening with UNICEF. The annual Hope Gala took place in a dazzling ballroom decorated in pastel spheres—a subtle reminder of UNICEF’s global importance in eliminating preventable childhood diseases. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour, dinner and a showstopping performance by the Chicago Children’s Choir. The afterparty was led by the group’s Next Generation steering committee, made up of young professionals who share the group’s commitment to the world’s children.

Co-chairs Bill Dietz and Miller Vance were joined by more than 400 guests, including Amy Brown, Wendy Serrino and Carol Dawley. Chicago auctioneer Vinnie Zaffarano led the live auction.

The tempting prize packages included two VIP tickets to a Chicago Cubs game, a set tour of CBS’ Madam Secretary and a trip to New York Fashion Week. Those one-of-a-kind experiences encouraged guests to bid high. By the end of the night, the party had raised an extraordinary $1.2 million.
