THE PARTY Healthy Schools Campaign’s sixth annual Cooking Up Change event at Bridgeport Art Center’s Skyline Loft raised $240,000 to support the organization’s local and national efforts to improve school food. THE SCENE Guests sipped signature cocktails while tasting healthy menu items at competing chefs’ stations—the bites were prepared by 12 student teams from Chicago Public Schools who were mentored by some of the city’s culinary experts. Washington High School took home the top honors for its lunch item, and will compete with other local champions and present its meal to Congress at the National Finals in Washington next May.
