THE PARTY The Music Institute of Chicago, the oldest community music school in Illinois and one of the three largest in the nation, held its 82nd anniversary gala at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. THE SCENE The evening included cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by an elegant dinner and live scholarship auction. The awards presentation honored Stephen Sondheim, recipient of the prestigious Dushkin Award, and Marilynn Alsdorf, recipient of the third annual Cultural Visionary Award for Chicago. THE BOTTOM LINE The event raised more than $1.36 million for the financial aid programs that benefit more than 5,000 students annually at the Music Institute’s eight primary campuses.
