What motivated you to start your business?
I have a passion for renovating historic buildings and creating St James 1868 has been a dream come true. My design is inspired from the bride's perspective, creating photography moments throughout the property focused on all the details. My love for traveling across Europe influenced many of the décor decisions, one of my favorites is the Luxury Duchess Suite. My team and I are dedicated to creating an experience for you and your guests that will last a lifetime.
Tell us what makes your venue unique from other wedding venues?
St James 1868 features 2 historic wedding venues; the HYDE and the ABBEY. Each of our venues boasts its own interpretation of European elegance, inviting guests to take their vision to new heights. We offer multiple rental options such as just a ceremony or just a reception rental however our most popular rental is hosting the ceremony and reception onsite. Our couples can enjoy the entire event venue for the complete Royal Wedding experience or simply choose the space that best suits their celebration.
Tell us what makes your business stand out?
The transformation from ceremony to reception, our team and vendor partners create, is truly magical. It is hard to capture in photographs but the ambience is breathtaking. We provide an unexpected guest experience. For our Abbey rental our couples say their vows in the Abbey, move to the English Courtyard for cocktail hour and return to the Abbey for dinner and dancing. In under 90 minutes the Abbey is transformed with floral, decor, candles and uplighting into an elegant, cathedral setting. We make sure all our couples experience a room reveal, an intimate moment to take in all the design details and planning they have worked so hard to create.
What sets your brand or business apart?
St James 1868 has been designed with our couples top of mind. There are endless photography moments throughout the property to capture all the special moments with family and friends. The Duke and Duchess suites were so much fun to design and hearing the reactions of the wedding party as they arrive on wedding days are the ultimate compliment!
What is the most gratifying part of your business?
My team and I strive to make every couple's wedding day their dream come true. This past weekend we received an email from one of our brides... "Everything went perfectly thanks to you, your preferred vendor list and your staff. It was the best day ever!" Receiving these heartfelt replies from our brides is most gratifying and reminds us why we care so much.
