With their latest collection, rising stars Arnaud Vaillant and Sébastien Meyer of Coperni have created the ultimate wardrobe for the fearlessly fashionable woman.
Coperni’s latest collection features must-wear garments like a cutout tailored jacket and low-rise loose tailored trousers.
Talk about a dynamic duo: Less than five years after meeting in fashion school in Paris, young talents Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant launched their label, Coperni Femme, in 2013 before being tapped to take over iconic French brand Courrèges. Now, the pair are back with the relaunch of Coperni—and according to Chicago style guru Ikram Goldman, the label’s new collection is an absolute stunner.
A chic cocoon jacket
“There’s an architectural element to all of the pieces that is just perfectly executed,” enthuses Goldman about the garments, which range from body-skimming jackets, blouses and dresses to skinny pants and oh-so-chic accessories. “The clothes are sexy, strong and wearable, and the fit is beautiful.” Make no mistake, adds Goldman: The Coperni woman is one of a kind. “It’s a power girl—somebody with a lot of confidence—that wears an outfit like this,” she says. “I see her going to a meeting or a fabulous dinner in the city.”
Ring embroidered dresses
Ultimately, says Goldman, what makes Coperni essential wearing is that the clothes are both timeless and incredibly now. “You can put these clothes on and have them forever, but I also love the newness and the freshness of the way they look. They play on the masculine and feminine in a way that shows that these are designers who truly understand the moment.” 15 E. Huron St., ikram.com; us.coperniparis.com
