Digestive Health Foundation Gala Celebrates Launch Of IBD Center

An elegant gala was held at the Four Seasons Chicago by the Digestive Health Foundation to celebrate the launch of the Northwestern Medicine Stephen B. Hanauer, MD, Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center. The evening featured a live auction, dancing and a program honoring Dr. Stephen B. Hanauer.
Dr. Maria T. Abreu, world-renowned IBD expert and gastroenterologist at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, served as the keynote speaker at the gala and shared insights on the impact Hanauer has made over the course of his career. Dr. John E. Pandolfino of Northwestern Medicine and Dr. Michael Ruchim of Northwestern Memorial Foundationalso also spoke to the gathered attendees.
A vibrant auction gave guests the chance to win one of two luxury getaways: a seven-night trip to Switzerland including a journey through the Swiss Alps on the Glacier Express, and a six-night trip to Mexico including mezcal tastings and spa treatments. The gala raised over $4 million in support of establishing the Hanauer IBD Center.
