Moving back to her hometown with her family, a client enlists Jennifer Morrow of JenMarie Interiors to create a home that celebrates her roots.
The great room beckons with a custom sofa in Pollack Accolade fabric, Harcourt Mason rug and Lyric Branch sconces from Visual Comfort & Co.
The Project
After two decades of city living, a dynamic family was looking to create a space that blended urban sophistication with pastoral charm. When a large parcel of land that had previously belonged to the client’s family became available, they seized the opportunity to craft their dream home in Frankfort, Ill., the wife’s hometown. Turning to Jennifer Morrow of JenMarie Interiors for a third time, they embarked on an exciting journey to design a forever home that would honor their heritage.
An RH Rain round chandelier gracefully hangs over the home’s custom curved staircase, which features white oak treads, decorative iron balusters and a custom stained handrail.
The Priority
The unexpected arrival of COVID-19 in 2020 served as a pivotal moment for the family. With sights set on strengthening family bonds and embracing cherished hometown roots, they ultimately decided to relocate.
In the kitchen, Paramount Quartzite from Terrazzo & Marble Supply adorns the wall, while Gracie Large Captured Globe pendants from Visual Comfort & Co. add definition to the space.
The Challenge
As often happens, the clients had some differing opinions on design, reflecting their distinct tastes and preferences. “The husband leaned more contemporary and was interested in taking design risks,” explains Morrow. “The wife always preferred the more subtle and simpler lovely palettes. Combining both styles wasn’t a challenge, but rather a specific hybrid of their personal aesthetics.”
A Signature Hardware Winifred Solid Surface tub draws the eye in the primary bathroom, while Romo Fabrics Kekura Tamarind print window coverings add texture and warmth.
The Details
“The feeling of the home is what makes us all proud,” shares Morrow. “The home is impressive with scale and furnishings, but is exceptionally comfortable and approachable. I especially adore the climatized wine room on the first floor, as it’s been a great conversation piece with the barrel vaulted ceiling and steel and glass doors.”
The Outcome
According to Morrow, the clients are “enjoying every second of ” their dream home. Crafted for comfort and entertaining, the residence features amenities like a pool, spa, theater and golf simulator, allowing the clients to embrace a lifestyle where, as Morrow puts it, “nothing is for show, but rather for ultimate living.”
Hammond Outdoor Teak Chaise lounge chairs elevate the outdoor pool area, offering relaxation and style.
