Play Attention
An Evening to Imagine culminated the Kohl Children’s Museum’s 30th anniversary with a gilt-edged gala lauding an outstanding cause.
THE PARTY
Channeling the vibe of an upscale 1920s supper club, over 400 guests in full party dress rendezvoused in Deerfield’s stunning Venue One North Shore to toast An Evening to Imagine—a ravishing gala celebration marking 30 years since the founding of Kohl Children’s Museum.
THE PEOPLE
Following heartwarming remarks from founder Dolores Kohl, notables Mary Galvin and Dawn Meiners received honors at the gala as longtime supporters of the museum. A sumptuous dinner of Steak Diane and roasted barramundi followed, with smooth sounds from the Eddie Butts Band luring crowds to the dance floor.
THE PINNACLE
Attendees raised over $585,000 to support the museum’s exhibits, educational programs and services for children with special needs. But the revelry didn’t stop there: Guests also enjoyed a video spotlighting the museum’s new Play Attention program, which reaches out to military and veteran families. The imaginative mix of play and party made for a lovely evening. ‒Solomiya Chuyko
