The Party The Arie Crown Theater came alive when the N’Digo Foundation held its 17th annual Legend de Soul gala to honor the 50th anniversary of the music genre. The celebration include a concert featuring performances by the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, and Chicago sensations, The Impressions.The Players Spotted at the soirée were Hermene Hartman (event co-host and founder of the N’Digo Foundation), Art Norman (co-host), Rev. Jesse Jackson, comedian Jonathan Slocumb and fashion designer Quinton de’ Alexander. The Scene Nearly 1,500 guests attended the event, which also honored this year’s 12 N’Digo scholars. To date, the foundation has awarded nearly 300 merit-based college scholarships to Chicago high school students. Photography by Errol Dunlap and Tarji
