A Lasting Legacy

The Party
Venue One transformed into a foodie mecca for the inaugural fundraising event benefiting the Charlie Trotter’s Culinary Education Foundation scholarship program, which encourages young chefs to explore their passion for cooking. The evening was hosted by Trotter’s best friend (and famous chef himself) Emeril Lagasse, and Mayor Rahm Emanuel served as honorary co-chair.

The People
The cuisine community came out in full force to celebrate their late peer. Trotter-inspired tasting stations featured guest chefs Rick Bayless, Graham Elliot, Tony Mantuano, Art Smith and others cooking up delectable bites like short-rib bone marrow burgers and Manchester farm quail. Master Sommeliers Serafin Alvarado and Larry Stone expertly paired wine with the delicious plates. Guests also sipped on creative drinks from Sportsman’s Club and noshed on sweet treats from Sugar Hills Bakery.

Best In Show

The gastronomic evening culminated a yearlong campaign for the foundation, and certainly fulfilled the high expectations of the nearly 300 guests and their bellies—all in true Trotter style. –Photos courtesy of Galdones Photography
