The Les Turner ALS Foundation celebrated its 35th annual Hope Through Caring Gala at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, where more than 400 guests gathered in honor of the foundation’s mission of providing care and support for people living with ALS.
U.S. Congressman Mike Quigley honored Brian Wallach, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2017, and his wife, Sandra Abrevaya, with the Harvey and Bonny Gaffen Advancements in ALS Award for their efforts in helping secure FDA approval on a new drug treatment, Relyvrio. The evening, emceed by WGN-TV’s Paul Lisnek, also honored First Bank Chicago’s CEO and president Eric Ephraim with the Hope Through Caring award for the bank’s continued support.
The award ceremony was followed by a dinner catered by the hotel before guests participated in a live auction, which raised more than $600,000 to further the foundation’s work.
