THE PARTY UNICEF raised $670,000 at the fifth annual Message of Hope gala at the Union League Club. THE SCENE Following a cocktail reception, the Columbia College of Chicago Gospel Repertory Ensemble greeted the 370 guests as they made their way to the Kehoe Designs-styled main dining room. In a nod to the org’s dedication to children, 10-year-old pianist Emily Bear played a moving medley of self-composed pieces. THE PLAYERS Co-chairs Paul Harvey, MaryLou Giustini, Adam Gifford and Nathan Miller joined U.S. Fund for UNICEF President Caryl Stern in honoring Gary Beu for his 20 years of service to the Midwest Regional Board of Directors.
