THE COUPLE In 2021, Caroline Chambers and Michael Adams moved from Atlanta to Chicago on a whim. “We moved as a fun life event to do together and have had such an unbelievable time in this beautiful city,” Caroline says. So when they got engaged a year later, they wanted to show it off.
THE DETAILS Fashion took top priority. “I tried on more than 30 dresses and couldn’t land on one with the right amount of statement,” Caroline says. “So I perused TikTok and found Ruth Milliam, the designer of Millia London.” They worked together over eight months and across an ocean on a bespoke layered tulle confection and extra-long veil that stole the show.
THE PARTY The couple’s 55 guests dressed in spring colors to match the whimsical “fantasy garden” affair. “Different colors were emphasized in different areas: Bridesmaids wore shades of pink, table settings emphasized lavender,” Caroline says of the pastel decor. There were custom fashion sketches as favors, neon props on the dance floor and a watercolor of the newlyweds’ dogs at the sweetheart table. And, on the honeymoon, another “fun life event” on a whim: matching tattoos.
The graphic- designer groom custom-made all the stationery for the wedding. “The invitations alluded to color with a modern, editorial aesthetic,” Caroline says.
The table settings emphasized lavender, and LM Studio's floral accent wall provided the perfect complementary backdrop.
