After stealing the show on The Real Housewives of New York City, fan favorite Luann de Lesseps has taken to the stage in a new show titled Countess Cabaret. Under the direction of Richard Jay-Alexander (known for his work with top talents like Barbra Streisand and Kristin Chenoweth), the glamorous show is a can't-miss. Here, we check in with her before she pulls back the curtain at Park West (322 W. Armitage Ave.) on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.
Congratulations on the success of your cabaret tour! What inspired you to turn to the stage after RHONY debuted?
My love of hosting parties, singing for my friends and telling jokes inspired me to take it to the stage. I’ve been touring since 2018 when my show was first featured on Housewives. I never dreamed I would now be on a Live Nation international tour doing Countess Cabaret!
What has it been like working with Richard Jay-Alexander?
To work with such an incredible, iconic director is truly a dream come true. They don’t call him the "diva whisper" for nothing. He’s worked with so many superstars—I’m a lucky girl.
You're very involved in philanthropic work. What are some of the organizations you are most passionate about?
It’s been my honor to work with so many great organizations like the American Cancer Society, ACE Programs for the Homeless, The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, and The Fortune Society, building people, not prisons.
What are you most looking forward to about being in Chicago?
I love my Windy City fans and their passion for cabaret and JOVANI!
What can fans expect from you next?
I have a new tour coming up in 2024 that will kick off in Los Angeles at The Wiltern on Feb. 16. Until then, you can catch the RHONY Ultimate Girls Trip premiering Dec. 14th on Peacock.
