Make It Work

| September 28, 2011 | Parties

THE PARTY The Service Club of Chicago hosted its 25th annual A Day on the Terrace charity luncheon and fashion show at The Peninsula Chicago. THE PLAYERS Service Club members—Sheryl Dyer, Cookie Cohen, Mamie Walton, Lynn McMahan and Rebecca Besser among them—as well as Modern Luxury’s John Carroll and Amy Wimer, Kathy Piccone of Gibsons, Greg Hyder of The Peninsula Chicago, and Rich Varnes of RL Restaurant, strutted down the runway in Escada, Intermix, Saks Fifth Avenue Men’s Store, Paul Stuart, Tory Burch and more. Plus, models in evening looks and fur collections from Neiman Marcus were personally escorted by Chicago firefighters. Taiko drummers enlivened the fast-paced show by Zazz Productions. THE SCENE The 295 guests sat for lunch at tables designed by Tom Kehoe of Kehoe Designs with Asian-inspired orchids. The theme carried into lunch as plates were served: shrimp spring roll salad and miso-glazed chicken with rice. And for dessert: a chocolate tart with raspberry and basil salad and mint cream.
