Matthew Stafford Lists Stunning Michigan Mansion After Trade to LA Rams

Matthew Stafford's Michigan Mansion For Sale

Calling all Detroit football fans with a little extra spending cash – Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has listed his mansion in Bloomfield Township, MI., for $6.5 million, according to the Oakland Press.

After 12 years with the Lions, Stafford is prepping for a move to Los Angeles where he'll join his new team, the Rams. His beautiful Bloomfield property is listed by Max Broock Realtors under Jeff Barker.

The home was originally built in 1980 and designed by Lou Desrosiers of Bloomfield Hills, although there were some major renovations in 2016 that transformed the estate into a contemporary dream home. The two-story, 7,720-square-foot mansion sits on 1.27 acres along Upper Long Lake, boasting more than 400 feet of lake frontage as well as a dock and boat launch.

Inside, the home includes five large bedrooms, five full bathrooms and two half-baths. The master suite on the first floor features a marble bathroom and several walk-in closets. Guests are welcomed by a two-story foyer entrance and greeted to an open floor plan with easy access to the main living room. The kitchen is decked out with quartzite countertops, Wolf stainless steel appliances and two kitchen islands, one of which inlcudes bar seating.

The architecture of the house allows views of the lake from many different rooms via an array of massive windows. Built for a most luxurious family, the house also includes a wraparound infinity pool, a glass-enclosed elevator, a wine cellar that can hold up to 625 bottles and a sauna. With a private, gated entrance, the driveway leads to a heated three-car garage. Builders also included the original Pontiac Silverdome Detroit Pistons half basketball court, making sure athletics always have a home in the soul of the structure.

Stafford no doubt enjoyed the estate, just as Detroit loved having his skills on the field. He's the fourth quarterback in NFL history to throw more than 5,000 yards in a single season, as well as the fastest player in NFL history to reach 40,000 yards (he did it in 147 games). He ranks in the all-time top 20 for pass attempts, completions, passing yards, and passing touchdowns, and ranks third of all time in passing yards per game. In 2017, he signed a $135-million contract extension with the Lions, which made him the highest-paid player in NFL history at the time.
